A member asked:

Had a clean emg on right side body, but twitching is more active on left. the right side twitches as well, just less. is this enough to say no als?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

ALS is not likely: ALS diagnosis is unlikely. 'Twitching' is the least specific symptom and if there are no other symptoms, the diagnosis could not be made at this time . The normal EMG and your age further suggest that this is not likely ALS. If you have symptoms besides the twitching, consulting with a neurologist would be suggested
