Exam-now: this sounds like a serious throat and lymph node infection. I suggest IMMEDIATE medication examination, throat culture and therapy.

Acute Pharyngitis: it sounds like you may have an acute process going on. It is either by viral or bacterial.. it is hard hard for me to tell you which it is without being examined . however if you have school age children it could possibly be step. I highly recommend you go to urgent care for a quick strep test and if + you will be treated . if - , they will wait for culture results .
