Sounds like you had: strep throat 3 months ago. I wonder if you have developped chronic tonsillitis which gives you sometimes difficulty to swallow . I would check with an ent specialist and let see what they say. May need tonsillectomy.

Swollen lymph node: Yes, it could happen. Probably it is a reactive large lymph node after severe sore throat. Swelling may stay for some time even after treatment of sore throat. If swollen lymph node persists you should get the diagnosis. Doctor might recommend FNA procedure or surgical biopsy for diagnosis.
