Any persistent back pain, that is not relieved with over the counter acetaminophen or ibuprofen, should be evaluated by a doc soon. See below: Back pain is very common. It can be due to muscle strain or due to a number of problems that can cause back pain. If it is due to muscle strain often OTC analgesics such as ibuprofen(Advil), Naproxen(Aleve) or Acetaminophen(Tylenol) can be helpful.
