Varies: Plantar fasciitis is felt to be caused by an inflammatory contracture of the plantar fascia that supports the arch of the foot. Stretching is an accepted treatment for it, but it can be aggravated in doing so, particularly if you just started. If it persists, other initial ttrestments can include wearing a night splint to more gradually stretch it out or even getting a cortisone shot for it.

Easy does it: Why you ask. Because everything you described doing to you foot merely added more injury to an already inflamed(injured fascia). The area must be allowed to calm down. You can help it by applying heat, Staying off it as much as you can. Do not go barefoot for any reason. As the inflammation subsides and the damaged tissue begins to heal you can take an NSAID to speed things up.
