Not necessarily.: Although it is almost inevitable that both of these conditions will worsen with advancing age, there are many things you can do to delay this. But you also need to remember that cardiovascular disease is very common in US. Weight loss, increasing exercise, and reducing animal fat intake and simple carbs are some general things you can do. Ask your doctor for specific recommendations.

Not necessarily: You can reduce your risk for both my maintaining a healthy weight. If you are even a little bit overweight. try to lose it. Not an easy thing, but worth it. Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco or alcohol in any form.
