Having a total thyroidectomy on tuesday for gd but ptu (propylthiouracil) has caused low t4/ft3 (ft3 0.8) i know i can't have the surgery hyper but is hypo a problem?

Thyroid replacement: Once your thyroid has been removed, you will need thyroid replacement to normalize your metabolic function since you will no longer produce any thyroid hormones. Let your doctor guide you through the dose adjustment process.
