A member asked:

What can i expect after having a thyroidectomy and radioiodine treatment for ptu (propylthiouracil)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hypothyroidism: Lifelong need for thyroid hormone replacement. Watch calcium and parathyroid function as well. Endocrinologist needs to monitor for recurrence of cancer (i presume that's why you had these procedures)
