Not ok.: The relative dosages may be equivalent for you or not, and the effectiveness may be equivalent or not. But there medico-legal problems. The Ativan (lorazepam) is not now prescribed for you, now, so you are self-medicating with a controlled drug. It is unlikely that you will be put in jail for this, but it contributes to a picture that you may not be fully willing to work a doctor with a controlled drug.
