A member asked:

Child had a tympanoplasty 16 months ago and the patch feel off should tympanoplasty be repeated or is there a more effective surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Defined by doc: This is something best answered by those with the advantage of knowing all the history & doing an exam. When a TM rupture does not seal up on its own, placing an artificial patch to create a surface where the membrane can have support while it seals or using a tissue graft are common options.
