Piercing humans...: Piercing a person creates a break and damage to the skin at the piercing. Humans are designed to heal up, so the skin tries to get rid of the piercing (it is a foreign body stabbed into a person). Sometimes there are too many germs growing at the site, sometimes there is too much inflammation that prevents healing, and sometimes there is an allergy to the foreign body (such as a metal allergy).
