Yes: When in doubt, it is better be safe than sorry. Itchy throat is not a symptoms for a cold however and one wonders if you are allergic instead. In the meanwhile, may try otc antihistamine

Itchy upper airway: Sometimes allergies will do the same. So its not a bad idea to have ur doc take a look. Some times asthma presents with itchy chest and throat at the onset.
