Multiple: factors can cause leg swelling or edema. If one sided, it is caused by poor circulation in regional veins such as venous insufficiency or by swollen lymph nodes in the groin. If both legs have swelling, more causes are possible such as heart failure, pulmonary disease, thyroid disorders(myxedema). Please schedule a thorough exam with your primary doctor.
