Do you understand: that "checking for" endometriosis means a diagnostic surgery such as laparoscopy? (Just making sure.) An endometrioma can be seen and suspected by ultrasound, but not pelvic endometriosis. If you feel you need or want surgery for diagnosis you should talk directly with a gynecologist about your wishes and reasons. A primary doctor may be helpful if you need a referral. Best wishes.
