I have patellar tendonitis and i already take aleve (naproxen) and wear a knee strap, is there anything else i should be doing?

Patellar Tendonitis: Have you gone through any formalized physical therapy? How useful is Aleve (naproxen) for your symptoms? Have you ever tried topical medication like Voltaren gel? It's good for aching, dull, throbbing pain. What about lidocaine gel? This is good for burning, stabbing, shooting, sharp, etc. type pain. These may be more useful since you would be applying them directly to your source of pain.
