REST for Tendonitis: If you have tendonitis you will not heal if you do not give it enough time to rest. Working out or continuing any regular repetitive motions will lead to ongoing trauma and not allow the tissue to heal. You may do well with physical therapy. And, with rest, if you still are not healing you may need to put the arm in a sling for one to two weeks. Rest the injured tissue.
