A member asked:

Well, i'm is a barefoot runner, using only thin shoes. does that mean the foot is extra overworked because of that?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

GoldenOrFallenArches: If you run on hard surfaces a lot (e.g.cement, asphalt, hard pack track, etc) then yes! You'll pound your heels and base of the toes and put lots of stress on your arches. On grass, sand, or turf you'll do better. But your feet are everything if you are a runner! Unless you've been raised to run barefoot and educated by others that do so,best find a shoe that absorbs shock and supports your arches
