No. : Elevated cholesterol levels as a part of metabolic syndrome can be associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), opposed to liver disease causing elevated cholesterol levels. In fact, patients with advanced liver disease may actually have lower cholesterol levels.
