A member asked:

I was just released today from the hospital with a diagnosis of colitis and infection in colon. i still have fever, is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Colitis: Colitis means inflammation of the colon. Infections like C. difficile can cause colitis that can be successfully treated with antibiotics. There are other forms of colitis that can last a lifetime, like ulcerative colitis. Regardless, unless our patients show significant clinical improvement in the hospital, it's rare that we send them home with fevers. You should check in with your doctor.
