Hi. my ob prescribed me 50mg of zoloft today. i'm so paranoid about taking anything while pregnant so of course i'm very concerned about a class c drug. i'm 32 weeks and 3 days pregnant. would zoloft have any negative effects on my baby?

Zoloft (sertraline): Antidepressants are used cautiously during the first trimester of pregnancy, afterwards and near delivery, close monitoring is recommended, otherwise at your stage of pregnancy you should be fine. Your baby is already developed & waiting to come out. Wish you well.

Probably not: the main issue is if the reason he started you on the Zoloft (sertraline) out weighed any risk of the medication. There are some issues with third trimester use and if still concerned discuss these with your OB.
