Is the front shin more prone to scarring? banged shin, left bony knot on tibia. doc took xrays and says it's subcutaneous scar. this common on shin?

Yes: The tibia( shin) bone has very little muscle coverage in the front and lower 2/3 of the bone. Contusions and secondary hematomas are quite common. Sometimes these collections of blood and secondary seroma/ scar 'knots' form and can persist for some time.Nothing to worry about. Best of Luck!
