A member asked:

Doctor took x-ray of my right shin and found subcutaneous scar. perhaps it calcified? is this common after trauma? i fell down some stairs months ago.

Common: It is common. There is not a lot of soft tissue in the shin so those tend to swell more, hurt more and leave more of a scar.

Probably oldhematoma: Why was the xray taken? Do you have chronic pain in the region? If you have some calcification in the subcutaneous area of the shin it is possible that is remnant from hematoma that you may have had there after some injury. This is common and typically an incidental finding. That is why I ask the reason of the xray. Follow up with your doctor on this issue.
