Support: Have the area examined by a podiatrist or orthopedist . You probably need to support the foot properly to prevent further breakdown.

Pain in foot: There are a number of causes for foot and ankle swelling and pain. Many patients will get tendonitis or a tendon tear in this specific area. Since you are having pain with walking, I highly recommend getting an exam for the best diagnosis and specific treatment plan if needed. Take it easy and best wishes!

Vari-close pressure.: More than likely the area's pain and swelling is coming from a soft tissue problem. The area is occasionally victim to varicosities running through the area. As the veins swell more and more, pressure is applied to the nerve positioned there. When you lay down the veins shrinks and the pain reduces. Have you foot examined by a specialist aware of this potential problem.
