Unchanged is good: If a lump has not changed in 8 years it is very unlikely to be anything serious. It is probably a benign cyst or lymph node that swelled up during an infection and just never went down. Please see a doctor to have it checked to help reassure yourself, but really this is not much chance that something that has not changed in 8 years is anything to be concerned about. Breathe, relax.
