A member asked:

Was just told i need a hip replacement, but xray showed very little arthritis. the problem was that i have severe hip/groin pain, can't sit, kneel?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need more evaluation: Causes of groin pain include hip problems, hernia, back problems (pinched L1 nerve root) , & other less common problems. A good history & examination can help pin point the cause. An injection of lidocaine in the hip joint can help confirm that the pain is coming from the hip joint. God luck.
