One year: You should get an xray after one year. If it looks good, healthy bone, get another at your five year anniversary.

No perfect answer: We are supposed to provide survalance of your prosthesis. These can wear down at the bearing or loosen from the bone. Most are good for 15-25+ years. Every year some watch, others go 2 years, others 5 years until you get to 15 years and then more frequently. There is no exact amount. Some people dont show up again for 10-15 years after hip replacement.
