Impingement Syndrome: At your age the most probable explanation is an "impingement syndrome" involving the hip joint on the affected side. A positive physical exam would strongly support this diagnosis, but it remains for an MRI of the hip joint to confirm it. Treatment is determined by the severity of the symptoms. However, the current treatment of this problem is through a hip arthroscopy procedure.
