Diverticulitis?: Possibly. Stop it and see if the pain goes away. It could also be the diverticulitis again. Follow up with your doctor.

Citrucel: Citrucel is not absorbed by the gut and thus acts by adding "bulk" to the stool. This can certainly cause symptoms such as bloating as the the gut adjusts. It is not generally recommended in situations of suspected bowel obstruction because pressure from bulk can build up rapidly and diverticulitis can recur. Would be ok if you are having bowel movements and no other sign of (see comment)..
