Follow up with MD: Studies show that Elavil (amitriptyline) for chronic pain may take several weeks to begin noticing improvement. The dosage may be modified for symptomatic relief. As such, I recommend that you follow-up with your treating physician to reassess your overall condition and possibly change the dosage.
