Open for a time.: a miscarriage is a process where the pregnancy is unable to be maintained for a number of reasons. the uterus contracts and you feel cramping pain. If the pregnancy is farther along this can cause slight opening (dilatation) of the cervix. Most of the time if this occurs it returns to normal in the first 3-4 wks. after the miscarriage.
