Yes and No: Adults should receive tetanus boosters every 7-10 years and at least one of them should be a TDAP vaccine which includes a pertussis booster as well. That being said, it is unrelated to a wood splinter. There is no concern for tetanus infection from a wood splinter. These come from rusted metal. However if your hand is in pain, ensure that the splinter has been completely removed.
