Toothache: How do you know you are infected? Besides, antibiotics do not solve dental problems. Make an appointment to be diagnosed and treated.

Unless you are..: a active current patient of record whom the dentist has recently examined, then yes you must be examined and a diagnosis made before getting a prescription.

You have see DDS: Antibiotics are not routinely prescribed to treat toothache. Dentists often prescribe antibiotics to treat an acute gum infection or severe tooth abscess.

Need to see dentist: for definitive treatment. Antibiotics will not solve the problem.

Antibiotics: Antibiotics will not cure the cause of your toothache, most probably an infection, just limit the level and spread of the infection until it can be physically treated by your Dentist. Your Dentist may prescribe an antibiotic for you until he/she can see you to provide treatment. Take antibiotics exactly as prescribed until all are taken.
