Treat the cause: A tooth ache should be treated at the cause, not the symptom. Medication will ease the pain but the pain will come back with more intensity and duration over time. Moreover, a painful abscess tooth will require antibiotic (antibacterial) to help the pain, not the analgesic (anti pain) medication. Check with your dentist.
