Depends on several: things: the type of bug, a person's allergy response, and whether it gets infected. Some will resolve in a few hours, while some individuals have delayed hypersensitivity reaction and may get marked swelling and redness after 1-2 days. Scratching and infection will prolong healing. Cold compresses and antihistamines orally work best if itchy.
