I bent my thumb a bit about a month ago and its been getting better week by week but still hurts a bit if i stretch it far enough or bend it the way it was that caused it to get hurt. do thumb joints just take awhile to fully heal? no redness/swell?

Joint spaces & their linkages are not supplied as well as skin & organs with the blood flow that permits healing. It will take time but if you leave the thumb alone (don't stress it a lot) it should heal.
