It is the location: of the placenta: in the anterior or front part of fundus(the upper part of the uterus). The "IOS" is the opening(internal os) of the cervix. A potentially serious complication of pregancy can occur when the placenta overlies the cervical os(placenta previa), so it is an important observation to determine where the placenta is in relation to the os.

See below.: Fundal means at the top of your uterus closest to your head. Anterior means in the front part of your uterus closest to your belly button. Well away from your internal os means that the placenta is not covering the "exit" from your uterus down by your vagina. This is a very safe placental placement.
