A member asked:

I found out i have arthritis between the talus and heel bone, i'm going to get subtalar steroid injections by imaging, what should i expect?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A shot under x-ray: Your doctor will use x-ray imaging to help guide the needle into the subtalar joint. With arthritis, getting the needle into the right space can be hard otherwise. The injection will sting a few seconds, and will hopefully provide some pain relief. With arthritis, injections only provide pain relief for a period of time, but the relief may be acceptable to you.
