My total cholesterol is 132. i've read a few articles that too low a total cholesterol (<160) is linked to health problems like increased risk of hemorrhage, depression, and even dementia. any truth?

Low cholesterol: Cholesterol is needed to make many important hormones and for cellular health in our body, but 130 wouldn't be too low to do that. I assume you're not taking any cholesterol lowering medications, but if you are,I don't think that you have to shoot for that low a level unless your LDL level is over 100(unlikely) However it's best to follow your physician's advice as he/she knows all your findings
