Recurrent depression: I would recommend life-long antidepressant medication to a patient who had 4 major depressive episodes. It doesn't mean that the antidepressant would have to be an SNRI. "15,660 people reported to have side effects when taking Pristiq. Among them, 14 people (0.09%) have Dementia" per https://www.ehealthme.com/ds/pristiq/dementia/. That doesn't mean that Pristiq caused the dementia.
