60-80 oz daily: Drinking plenty of water can help thin mucus. Driniing 60-80 oz of water daily and avoiding caffieine and alcohol can also help.

How much water: The recommend amount of water to maintain health is up to 8 glasses of water.Not sure if that will help sinuses. Most important form of water really is increasing humidification of your surroundings such as a vaporizer/humidifier; warm compresses to your face , Hot showers should help thin some of the mucus.
