Maybe.: He could have had the same strain of strep that you have before and is now immune to that one. Or he may not show symptoms yet, because he was exposed later, and will start having symptoms in the next week or so. If he has any symptoms, even just a runny nose or only vomiting or stomach ache, that could be strep,but without a sore throat and it needs treatment then, too.

It's complicated: He has probably been exposed enough to get it & carry the germ, but it becomes complicated at that point. A percentage of the population carry strep intermittently or continuously without ever becoming sick with it. He may have actually given it to you. He should be treated if he is positive & starts having symptoms. If he is a carrier it would likely return.
