A member asked:

Can having a hypertonic pelvic floor cause leg pain in both legs? pain from the hips all the way down each leg to the ankle?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes it can: Pelvic floor is a highway for nerves that supply the legs. Common problems include piriformis spasm that causes a sciatica irritation down the posterior leg and buttock. And the SI joint can rotate causing severe pain in posterior buttock or groin area and anterior thigh. Get examined by a PMR doc, ob-gyn or orthopoedist who,is familiar with this exam and treatment options.
