Similar: They are similar and both are now generic. I use a glove analogy: When a drug is manufactured, right and left handed gloves are created in the same amount. Your brain is left handed and only uses the left handed gloves. Celexa contains right and left gloves. Lexapro has been manufactured with left gloves only. For some patients, this reduces side effects. "
