A member asked:

Ct w/ contrast in march 2014 that showed 9mm cyst in each kidney.had ct w/o contrast in nov that says kidneys unremarkable.can no contrast show cysts?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly not: Due to various exposure factors and size of the patient , a CT without contrast may not reveal cysts, especially if they do not distort the adjacent structures or project beyond the kidney margins.
