Breast lesion: The radiologist will make an appropriate recommendation regarding the management of breast lesions in the dictated report. Discuss the recommendations with your GYN who is familiar with your personal and family medical history for the best advice.

The answer: depends on various ultrasound characteristics of the mass, plus your clinical picture. The radiologist will assign a BIRADS code, which is an assessment of the probability of malignancy, and which also forms the basis for a recommendation of doing nothing, following in 6 months, or biopsy.
