Losing weight: Avoiding a tummy tuck with weight loss is possible. The younger you are, the more likely the skin will retract with weight loss. If you have not had kids and are less than approximately 30, your skin will likely shrink, to a degree, with weight loss. If you have had children, have stretch marks, and have poor skin elasticity, you will likely require a tummy tuck to achieve your goals. Good luck

Probably not: Given that degree of weight loss, you will most likely need a tummy tuck to treat the extra skin.
