Great question: This is a point of some debate in the field. The question being: if one SSRI did not work out, is it worthwhile to try a different SSRI? Assuming that the dose of the first SSRI was adequate, and that the medication was taken for an adequate length of time (about four weeks or longer), I am inclined to look toward strategies with other mechanisms of action (the SSRI path having not been fruitful)
