I went to doc 9 days ago with cold-like symptoms. they gave antibiotic/steroid shot. i'm still sick and now can't hear out of my left ear. just acold?

Medicine guesswork: & likely both antibiotic & steroid were not helpful/ inappropriate; recommended for desire to do something, often a big problem driving inappropriate yet expensive treatment. Cold is a widely promoted/accepted catch-all for lots of illnesses, regardless various actual mechanisms. Try antihistamine & Valsalva maneuver to open up ear. Would love to help but more guesswork than usual from a distance.

Also, try Afrin nasal spray several times/day prior to doing the Valsalva (hold nose and clear ears).
