A member asked:

Today a doctor performed an ncv/emg when my leg was ice cold. the cold leg returned abnormal results. are these results accurate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

They may not be: We always recommend having warmed up limbs for electrical studies to reflect the best results possible. Often times we will use warm towels or blankets if towels are not possible for some reason. The room should also be at a comfortable temperature to begin with so we try to avoid starting out a room with a study if there's been no activity in it before hand.
