Lets clarify EMG: The NCV can show localized slowing of impulse conduction in a segment of the nerve (across the knee or ankle) The F Wave and H reflex test sends electrical signal toward the spinal cord and then bounce it back down to the leg to see if there is slowing in the cord or proximal part of the nerve. The EMG needle study detects muscle injury in a nerve root distribution (L5 or S1) vs an isolated muscle
